Sam is a visiting rider from New Zealand who joined us for a racing tour of North America.
Had an awesome time racing across North America with the Red Truck racing team. Started off at the team air bnb in Oxnard where I was able to meet the riders and get some cool rides in the sun of California.
First race was Redlands Bicycle Classic which was a quick turn around from my long flight. This was a good experience racing some big hitters in a field close to 200 riders, made better with Al taking the green sprint ace jersey.Next up was Sea Otter Classic, a good lumpy course in which Aidan got up the road giving the rest of us a more relaxed day. Finally we had the Tour de Bloom which went really well having Campbell get up for the win which made for some hard days defending pink, but well worth it.
Beyond this I spent some time in Vancouver and even got over to Vancouver Island for one weekend. Was able to get into some local races such as the weekly crits, spring series as well as provinvial champs and taking on some sick riding, the likes of Cyprus and Seymour, and of course the Sea to Sky. Overall had a really good time and met some even better people and hope to be back at some stage.
