After a brief warm-up lap with the entire team, we were quite quickly off to the races. We had a neutral roll-out behind the moto until the top of the hill, but I don't think the driver realized how hard we were having to go. Jake immediately went from the gun, then once he was brought back, I launched about halfway through the lap and took the first lap prime.

Sherwood and Michael van den Ham bridged up to me and we worked together for 8-ish laps. The first couple of laps together I was sorta dipping into the red to keep pace with the small boys on the climbs, and I let it show on my face, so they thought less of me. Then with four to go, AFM, Chris, and Kyle and a small group containing Matt Usborne, made it across and I launched an attack up the climb as soon as they joined on.

I built out a lead pretty quickly and finished over a minute ahead of the bunch, AFM rolled across for 2nd, and then Chris came 4th after Kyle and another guy got DQ’d for apparently crossing the yellow out of the last corner. Matt then got bumped into 3rd to round out the podium. Hard race, though. 80km with 1400m climbed. You don’t see that very often.
