Sometimes I feel dizzy with all the riding in circles I do, like everything's a blur. The sport of track cycling is an intense, fast paced, wild ride that keeps me always searching for more. We talk about a team pursuit as being the craziest four minutes of your life. Four mintues that are over in a heart beat. Four minutes, where a tenth of a second means winning or not making the podium.
I feel so fortunate for all the opportunities I've had through this whirl wind of a sport. Being able to represent my country and see far away places always leaves me appreciative and excited for what's to come. It was truly special to get to race a Track World Cup here on home soil in front of family and friends this last fall. Now, I'm even more excited to have been selected to represent Canada at the XXI Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia. I'll be racing on the track followed by the road race and time trial Down Under in April.
I feel really fortunate to be riding for Trek Red Truck for the second time. Their amazing group of fun and talented individuals, along with a helping hand for my online schoolin, make it a sure thing for a great year.
