The Canada Cup series kicked off this past May long weekend in Mont Tremblant, Quebec, and marked the start of the 2015 race season on home Canadian soil.

Race day brought beautiful sunny and warm conditions, with some muddy trails and slippery sections from the previous days rain.

The women's field saw almost all of the top Canadian talent in attendance which made for a strong peloton.

The race was off to a quick start and I was able to sit top five most of the way up the long double track drag to the top of the new 2015 XCO course.

I held top eight for most of the race until I started struggling after multiple crashes and a burp in the mud and on slippery roots.  I lost a lot of placings and tried to fight back for the remaining laps.

Finishing off in 12th place was not exactly where I wanted to be but happy to be feeling good on the climbs and getting back racing this season.

Now a few weeks to put in some good work before Canada Cup 2 and 3 at Hardwood Hills and Horseshoe Valley, ON.
